Knowledge Makes You A Good Leader

On my previous posting, I mentioned one of the daily habits that you must do in order to keep you focused in the business. Listening to tapes, discs or any other media could help you to create a positive environment while you’re in a “negative” surroundings. You will also increase your knowledge in executing your business.

book1 Another important daily habits that you must do is reading books. You do not have to be an expert to engage in the network marketing business; but by reading books, you are increasing your knowledge. Most of the prospects that I’ve met normally think that only “great speaker” and “smooth talker” will perform better in the business. I would probably agree; however these people are only the minority. Interestingly, the secret is the “real feelings, good essays”.

These “great speakers” or “smooth talkers” are not being developed overnight even though some of them are actually born with the ability to make a good speeches. In fact, good speakers is the one who knows how to tell their story.

Every body knows that knowledge is power. In network marketing, having the knowledge will make you a good leader. A good leader must know the importance of reading materials. If you love reading and exercise the appropriate usage of what you read, it will make a good speech that is sure to earn you followers.

As a network marketer, there are many inspirational, motivational stories which you can use as reference. These are some that I highly recommend.

I’m possible!

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. The author had wanted to be a famous writer since young and wanted to have a good dictionary. So he saved some money and finally bought himself a good dictionary. Did you know what is the first thing he did when he got home? He looked up for the word ‘impossible’ and added an apostrophe to make it “I’m possible”. Think positive, you definitely can!

Learning from failure

Winston Churchill is considered one of the greatest British statesman in the 20th century. Churchill did not have a happy childhood. He loathed his time in school (Harrow) and performed badly. He was consistently one of the last boys in the class. Churchill had to sit for the entrance examinations thrice before he was admitted to Sandhurst Military Academy.

During World War 1, he became the navy minister and was responsible for the military disaster at Gallipoli and was promptly dismissed. In the interwar period, he was the finance minister and was responsible for pegging the British pound to the gold index. This was a huge mistake, it nearly bankrupted the nation. For the next 10 years he did not hold any public office and was largely ignored. In 1940, he was called upon to become the prime minister. His finest hour came. He rallied the British people against the threat of the German invasion. Ironically, in his hour of victory in 1945, he was defeated decisively at the polls. How can you be like Churchill?

Persistence

It is often mentioned in the network marketing industry that ‘Persistence pays’. That’s right!. Did you know how the South African gold mine was discovered? The owner of the plot of land hired experts to ascertain whether gold is indeed hidden beneath and engaged a lot of manpower to dig the area. After quite some times when the gold mine was still could not be unearthed, the owner finally gave up. Someone else later discovered the gold mine further down about 130cm. If the previous owner persisted in what he was doing, he would have discovered the gold mine. So persist and keep on sharing the opportunity to your friends and prospects again!

Keep on reading! It will make you a good leader.

Talk to you soon,

Jai
