No Journey Too Tough

I was invited to attend a motivational talk by my son’s school this morning.  The speaker was Dr. William Tan, an internationally renowned speaker. What’s so special about him was that at the age of 2, he contracted polio that left him paralysed from waist down. Do that mean anything to you? Probably not!

During his 45 minutes talk, he shared with the audiences – students, teachers and parents – about his life story. By the way, Dr. Tan used wheelchair and crutches to move around. Even though he was a disabled in the eyes of the public, he showed outstanding strength in overcoming adversities.

To cut short his sharing, he excelled in his studies and achieved his dream to become a scientist and a medical doctor.

It did not end here. He wanted to give back to communities and help raised more than $18 million for charities locally and internationally for the disabled and the needy, over the last 20 years, including taking part in the famous Boston Marathon with a little girl Jess.

How does he do it? Dr. Tan is also an accomplished sportsman. He raised fund using his wheelchair. He is a world record holder. He became the first person in the world to undertake a wheelchair push in Antarctica.  He also completed 10 marathons across 7 continents in 65 days! This is what I call inspiring. What was his secrets?

  • Think Big
  • Ready to Learn
  • Be Caring
  • Find Solutions for any Obstacles
  • Never Give Up

Dr. William Tan had the same principles of success in life. So do network marketers. Was there any different? Yes, he is not in the network marketing industry.  Dr. Tan focus on what he wants and take action, take action, take action and never give up.

To your success,

Jailani
