Our Fate is in Our Hands

The key in promoting your network marketing business is to recognise that your success or failure is in your own hands even though deep in our thought that it’s all up to fate, as we could only plan what we desire.

A young man once captured a small bird and held it in his hands. He took the bird to the wise old man in the mountain and held it behind his back. The young man actually had some plan to test whether the old man was really a truly wise. He said to himself, “This is my chance to show that the wise old man isn’t so wise after all. I will ask the wise man if the bird is alive or dead. If he says it is alive, I will then squeeze my hands and crush the bird to dealth! If he says it is bird, I will free the bird and let it fly away. So, either way, he will be wrong.”

The young man stood before the wise old man of the mountain, holding the bird tightly in his hands. “God bless you, old man, ” the youth said. “I hold a bird in my hands. Now, if you are really a wise man, tell me, whether this bird is alive or dead?” The wise man looked deep into the boy’s eyes. Then he said, “The answer, my boy …….. is up to you.”

When it comes to making out ideas successful or the business to excel, our fate is in our own hands.

The Interview Between Mentor & Student

Every year, the month of Ramadhan has always been a very special month to me. It strengthened my faith and “forced-opened” my mind to review on what I’ve been doing for the whole year.

As a network marketer, having a good system that easily duplicated is not enough. You must continue to upgrade your knowledge – in the niches you are striving, the personal life skills or any general information that could strengthen your passion, your business or your profession in life.

I just listened to an interview by Anthony Robbin with two of his students, Frank Kern and John Reese. It was such a wonderful interview that I want to share with you.

Go now at http://tonyrobbinstraining.com/320/interview-with-frank-kern-and-john-reese. Watch for yourselves and give your own verdict. Enjoy.

What Goes Around Comes Around

An article worth sharing from a friend of mine ……

One day a man saw a old lady, stranded on the side of the road, but even in the dim light of day, he could see she needed help. So he pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out. His Pontiac was still sputtering when he approached her.

Even with the smile on his face, she was worried. No one had stopped to help for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her? He didn’t look safe; he looked poor and hungry.

He could see that she was frightened, standing out there in the cold. He knew how she felt. It was that chill which only fear can put in you.

He said, ‘I’m here to help you, ma’am. Why don’t you wait in the car where it’s warm? By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson.’

Well, all she had was a flat tire, but for an old lady, that was bad enough.. Bryan crawled under the car looking for a place to put the jack, skinning his knuckles a time or two. Soon he was able to change the tire. But he had to get dirty and his hands hurt.

As he was tightening up the lug nuts, she rolled down the window and began to talk to him. She told him that she was from St. Louis and was only just passing through. She couldn’t thank him enough for coming to her aid.

Bryan just smiled as he closed her trunk. The lady asked how much she owed him. Any amount would have been all right with her. She already imagined all the awful things that could have happened had he not stopped. Bryan never thought twice about being paid.

This was not a job to him. This was helping someone in need, and God knows there were plenty, who had given him a hand in the past. He had lived his whole life that way, and it never occurred to him to act any other way.

He told her that if she really wanted to pay him back, the next time she saw someone who needed help, she could give that person the assistance they needed, and Bryan added, ‘And think of me..’

He waited until she started her car and drove off. It had been a cold and depressing day, but he felt good as he headed for home, disappearing into the twilight.

A few miles down the road the lady saw a small cafe. She went in to grab a bite to eat, and take the chill off before she made the last leg of her trip home. It was a dingy looking restaurant. Outside were two old gaspumps. The whole scene was unfamiliar to her. The waitress came over and brought a clean towel to wipe her wet hair.

She had a sweet smile, one that even being on her feet for the whole day couldn’t erase. The lady noticed the waitress was nearly eight monthspregnant, but she never let the strain and aches change her attitude. The old lady wondered how someone who had so little could be so giving to a stranger. Then she remembered Bryan.

After the lady finished her meal, she paid with a hundred dollar bill. The waitress quickly went to get change for her hundred dollar bill, but the old lady hadslipped right out the door. She was gone by the time the waitress came back. The waitress wondered where the lady could be. Then she noticed something written on the napkin.

There were tears in her eyes when she read what the lady wrote: ‘You don’t owe me anything. I have been there too. Somebody once helped me out, the way I’m helping you. If you really want to pay me back, here is what you do: Do not let this chain of love end with you.’ Under the napkin were four more $100 bills.

Well, there were tables to clear, sugar bowls to fill, and people to serve, but the waitress made it through another day. That night when she got home from work and climbed into bed, she was thinking about the money and what the lady had written. How could the lady have known how much she and her husband needed it? With the baby due next month, it was going to be hard….

She knew how worried her husband was, and as he lay sleeping next to her, she gave him a soft kiss and whispered soft and low, ‘Every thing’s going to be all right. I love you, Bryan Anderson.’

There is an old saying ‘What goes around comes around.’ Good friends are like stars….You don’t always see them, but you know they are always there.

Compassion – A Personal Sense of Peace

Honesty with one’s self leads to compassion for others! Do you agree?

One of the daily habits of a Network marketer is prospecting. In other words, you must love meeting people from various walks-of-life. There will be times when you will feel frustrated when your prospect do not turn up for the appointment. However, if you want to be successful in the business, rejections should be part of your daily chores. It should be treated as normal.

Being in the business for quite sometimes, I’ve learned to accept the fact that compassion should be part of me. One of the things that I always practice is compassion exercise as it will give me a personal sense of peace apart from my daily prayers. This exercise was first introduced by Harry Palmer – Resurfacing.

Compassion for those for whom Mother's Day brings sadness

This exercise can be done anywhere that people congregate. It should be done on strangers, especially your cold-callings prospects, unobtrusively, from some distance. It would be good if you could try to do all the five steps on the same person.

With attention on the person, repeat the followings to yourself.

  1. “Just like me, this person is seeking some happiness for his/her life.”
  2. “Just like me, this person is trying to avoid suffering in his/her life.”
  3. “Just like me, this person has known sadness, loneliness and despair.”
  4. “Just like me, this person is seeking to fulfill his/her life.”
  5. “Just like me, this person is learning about life.”

Some variations of the compassion exercise are as follows.

  • To be done by couples or family members to increase understanding of each other.
  • To be done on old enemies and antagonists still present in one’s memories.
  • To be done on your prospects especially those who rejected you.
  • To be done on alien life forms.

I’ve personally tested the effectiveness of this exercise. It makes me feel good and cultivate peace of mind. It could change your life and other people’s life if you sincerely do it. It won’t cost you a penny, in fact it give you some motivation to succeed in whatever you do by being honest to yourself.

Cultural Differences – What’s your view.

Days passed by very quickly. For the past weeks, my days were all occupied with my network marketing business, IT trainings, and my outdoor activities. Last weekend, with a group of friends, we went for a night trekking in Malaysia – Pelepah Hill Waterfall. It was a good trip with lots of unforgettable memories. As one of my friend’s wife said (Ella), “we sweat, we enjoy, we cry”, as a group just to achieve the objective of the trip which was to climb the summit at night. For the record, we started climbing on Saturday at 8.00 pm and reached the summit at 12 midnight sharp! (Sunday) & we did it in a large group of 27 climbers!

Planning for any trip especially an outdoor event such as the above is easy; however, executing it needs passion and commitment. Sometimes, we tend to listen or follow our own ideas that we have forgotten that having several ideas can give us more options in our planning and execution. We can have more than two people giving ideas, forming an informal committee to plan; but we must appoint a leader to spearhead the group. We must know how to leverage each other by assigning tasks or duties. This will make our job more easier so that we can focus on other important ones.

Sometimes we feel that we can do everything by only listening to our own view rather than other people. If we want to be successful, we have to fore-go our personal feelings and ego. We have to learn how to trust people and leverage their skills and specialities.

During the Second World War, many American soldiers dated Englishwomen in England. Quite often, both sexes accused each other of sexual aggression. What caused this? The answer lies in confused cues.

Anthropologists say that a courtship procedure consists of 30 steps beginning with first eye contact on through the consummation of the relationship. However, not every culture has these steps in the same place. In the US, kissing is about step 5. It is a friendly way to get things going on. In England however, kissing is about step 25 – it was considered highly serious affair. Now imagine what would happen when an American GI kisses an Englishwomen after a date. She will be shocked. She thinks, “This isn’t supposed to happen until step 25.” So she has to make up her mind, either call off the relationship; because it has become too serious, or get ready for consummation since it is only a few steps away. From the man’s point of view, things also appear confusing. She seems to behave like a women in hysteria or a nymphomaniac.

Have you been blindly following your own rules? Have you considered the other person’s view?

Excuse me, Are you a hidden entreprenuer?

The number of network marketers who succeed in the business has steadily increased. However, the number of people failed in the business has seen doubled than the number of people succeed. To these group of people, do not give up as you might not “fit” with the current or previous company. You are not alone!

David Brown, one of the most successful movie producers in America was fired from three corporate jobs before he realized that corporate life was not for him. In Hollywood, he rose to become No. 2 at 2oth Century Fox until he recommended the film Cleopatra, which turned out to be a commercial disaster. He was fired.

Next he became the vice president at New America Library, but the owners brought in a staff with whom he clashed. He was again fired. He was reinstated in 20th Century Fox. After six years he was fired for recommending some pictures which the board of directors did not like. Brown decided to examine his working behaviour. He realized that his personally style is totally unsuitable for corporations. The way he operated – being outspoken, risk-oriented, eager to move on instincts – was the style of a boss and not an employee.

Analysis of failure made Brown go out on his own to produce ‘The Sting”, “Jaw”, “The Verdict” and “Cocoon”. Brown wasn’t a failed corporate executive; he was a hidden entreprenuer.

Are you a hidden entrepreneur?
