16Network Marketing Prospecting Tips

The followings tips can be considered to manage the game of prospecting.
Make large prospect list
- Allow for attrition
- Attrition is natural no matter how good the opportunity is
- Expect no-shows at meetings, or dropouts
- The more you communicate, the better the outcome
Prioritise your list into high and low
- People who have leadership qualities – high
- People who are people oriented – high
- People who are positive – high
- People who are self-motivated – high
- People who are successful – high
- People who have iron-will – high
- People who are complacent – low
- People who are negative – low
- People who have no drive – low
If possible, try to avoid one-to-one presentation unless you have no other choice because it is not time effective. However, this does not apply to one-to-one sharing over coffee or a meal.
If you use the conventional method of prospecting using telephone, try to make the calls short about 3 minutes. A 30 minutes call or even a 15 min call is unproductive. You can make 20 calls with a duration of 3 minutes but you only able to make 4 calls in a 15 minutes conversation within an hour.
You must prepare and practice your script or plan what to say or what to write when emailing your prospects. Do anticipate common questions forwarded to you such as how long will the session take or is it MLM? Remember to reply with cautious but confident.
Give gentle reminders before scheduled meeting. It emphasizes the importance of the meeting. Your prospects will see the seriousness of you to the meeting.
Have a proper closing at the end of the presentation i.e. getting commitment if they show interest and fix a date and time for follow-up as alternative. The follow-up must be executed within 48 hours, otherwise the enthusiasm or excitement shall dies. Worse still, if they talk to someone negative, their interest may be killed.
Bring them to your system or company meetings. Give them something related to the industries for them to read or listen such as books and tapes.

13The Seven Daily Essential Tasks

However, whether you want to execute them or otherwise, it’s all up to you. Remember, it’s you who makes it happen! It’s you who is responsible to grow your personal franchise business and organization. No one is going to take that away from you. Success is not measured by how much money you earned – but you must love them -, or how many downlines or persons you have sponsored in your organization, etc. Success is very subjective. It’s how you define and achieve it.
The seven daily essential tasks are part of the practical aspects of the business. In fact, it has become a routine in my life as I used them not only for the business, but for everything I do in life. The most important is how you planned your day and how to apply it effectively in achieving your goals. Nothing is impossible unless you refuse to think! Self-disciplined and motivation are greatly needed in this area. Take control of your life as your fate is in your own hands.
The seven daily tasks are as follows.
- Listen to the audio tapes, CD or any audio files.
- Read motivational books, e books and related materials.
- Participate in any related meetings, seminars, trainings whether on-line or off-line.
- Use the products yourself; apply what you’ve learned.
- Communicate well with your mentors, upline.
- Take action and do simple retail; market your specialty.
- Create opportunity by showing the plan and branding yourself.
The above-mentioned daily tasks are definitely not new to network marketers. In fact, great efforts should be considered as to how to execute it rather than simply ignore them. Just give it a go, and you won’t regret it. You decide!

09The Science of Network Marketing

Duplicating is not about imitating personalities as this isn’t “send in the clones”. However, if you find or see successful people wearing dark coloured suits (dark blue or black) with white shirt, who sell 25% more than those wearing brown suits, what colour suit will you be wearing? You bet – Blue or Black!
One of the most powerful forces at work in Network Marketing business is the concept of doubling or widely known as Duplication which originally meant “to double”. The power of doubling is awesome, but most of the time it’s going on, you’ll never know its happening. Then, like magic, you explode! It’s not what you think they are, this is the science of network marketing.

A cent doubled every day for month doesn’t sound like much. After 5 days, you only have 16 cents. After 15 days, you have a whopping $163.84. Beginning to think that you’ve made a stupid choice? Wait, there’s more to come. Just continue to double the amount and you’ll get really interesting about it. From just a cent, you doubled everyday and you will have more that a million in 30 days!
In the beginning of your journey into network marketing, the doubling concept doesn’t look like so much; but if you give it a long-term mind – say 5 years – you could see the difference. But you must focus and take actions! You have to work hard now and enjoy the fruits later.
That’s the doubling concept! That’s the power of duplication. Do not be fooled just because you can’t see it. I see many people quit the business mere months before their ship comes in; just because they just don’t see it.
Duplication is the science of Network Marketing. It works, its proven and it’s going to work for you only if you take actions! The doubling concept is how network marketers keep all the qualities of “small is beautiful” but do a big, big job. Remember, you are running a personal franchise business where your business grows geometrically.
