2011 will be another great year …

It’s 2011 and we are approaching the end of January! Another 2 more days, we welcome the month of February where our Chinese friends, colleagues, etc. will be celebrating the Lunar New Year 2011!

My last blog was on November 2010 where I shared an article about the speeches made by one of the riches man in India, Mr. Narayana Murthy. Before that, I made a promise that I will be back with more blogging in 2011.

The time has come to fulfill what I’ve promised. However, I will be making drastic changes in terms of blogging contents. Gone were the days where I solely blogged on network marketing which is one of my passions. For the past 2 years, I’d actually given some thought about blogging on other passions of mine such as technologies, mountaineering and outdoor sports, my Islamic beliefs, health issues, etc. Personally, I have created blogging websites for each individual topics that I was inclined but I found it very difficult to maintain these websites individually. I’ve been juggling my times – maintaining and updating the contents but again it has been very difficult!

So I decided to blog about these in this website – Jailani.info; and most likely I will shut down all other websites to focus only here. New categories will be created to ensure smooth surfing throughout.

To all my blog readers and followers, sorry for the inconvenience caused and I really hope that by doing this, it will help you, especially those who have been following me, to have more informations than before, not only on one particular niche or topic, but also on several passions and thought from me!

You will then have a clear understanding on my thought and passions in life through my own journey and experience, as well as getting to know me more … You will then know my reasons for having this blog which is merely being done because of you in mind.

May God give me all the courage and guide me to His path! May 2011 be another challenging and prosperous year to me and you, and shall work towards increasing our faith in whatever we believed in …..

Make A Difference in 2010!

2009 has since left us. There were memories and events that we simply wanted it to be repeated whilst some we hopefully wished that it should not reoccurring again this year! As a human being, we could only planned what we desire, but we could not actually knows what will be happening in the near future. Least that we could do is to take all the necessary precautions to prevent “undesirables” from taking shapes.

As for me, 2009 has been one of the most challenging years. Out of 100% that I’ve planned, only 60% has been fulfilled.  The remaining 40% will not be trashed, but we be listed again this year and will be rated as the immediate tasks that I must achieved this year.

Everyday we are trying very hard to make a difference in one’s life. Be it our life, our life partner, our family, our colleagues, our friends, and to those whom we get acquainted too. Along the way, we are going to face many obstacles, hindrances, etc… and in order to achieve it, we have no choice but to either go through it, bash through it, overcame it or we are going to face these same problems yearly without failed.  I’m not saying that once we go through it, we are not going to face it again! We still have to undergo it but with different level of difficulties.

Once there was a wise man who loved to take an early morning stroll along the beach.  On one of the days, he saw what appeared to be a young man dancing. He really wanted to know what was the young man doing and approached him. “Why are you dancing on the beach at this such hour?” The young man replied, “I am not dancing. I am throwing starfish into the sea. If I do not do it, these starfish will die when the sun comes up.” The wise man then advised the young man, “But young man, you are wasting your time.  There are thousands of miles of beaches and millions of starfishes, and I can be sure that you can’t possibly make a difference!”

The young man did not immediately reply to the wise man. He took a deep breath. He continued picking up another starfish from the beach and threw it into the sea and said, “It makes a difference to that one.”

We definitely cannot touch everyone’s life and make changes, but we can actually touch and change our own life and those around us! How can you make a difference in your work, your business, your surroundings and in your life?

Have you plan your next year goals?

It has been 3 weeks since my last blog. How time flies! I was pre-occupied with my training, outdoor activities and my network marketing business. It was such a roller coster ride during this period, but it was a good “stress” for me. I’m taking a break at this moment. No training whatsoever. I’m using this quality breaks to be with my love ones.

I bought a couple of books for my children and myself. At this moment, I’m reviewing what I’ve done for 2009 – wondering whether I have achieved my goals for the year. About 50% of what I’ve planned were actually achieved. As for the remainder of 50%, I will bring it forward as part of my goals for 2010. Btw, If you are planning your goals for next year, please do not forget to review what you’ve done for this year. Go out there, have your own quality time, and just do it.

Hope the followings will help you in planning your goals.

One of the golden rules of setting a goal is to set goal that can make you panic or comfortable. In doing this, you will be well-prepared to go for it. If you set a goal within your comfort zone, studies have shown that you will take it very lightly to the extend that you will not actually pay attention to it. So, set a goal that requires you to either “do or die mission”.

Identify short and long term goals. Turn them into dreams where you can actually visualize it.

Your goals must be your own and personal and not something which sounds good and dictated by others! I personally experienced this situation. Your goals must be genuine according to what you want to do in life, what you are willing to do to change your life, how you are going to do it in order to achieve.

There are many methods on how to plan your goals. One of the most powerful that I’ve ever applied, is the SMART methods. It’s not only powerful, but easily executed.

S – Your goals must be specific. You must be clear of what you want to do. Know your positioning in whatever you’re doing.
M – Your goals must be measurable. Take sometimes to do projections as they are vital in achieving your goals.
A – Take action. List out all the action plans towards achieving your goals and desire.
R – Goals must be realistic! It should be truthful and personal to yourself.
T – Time Conscious. Setting timeline is very important in making sure that you go as planned. What you can do is to gather the courage to give pressure to yourselves.

Focus on the objectives of your goals. Always check yourselves.

Having someone to check on your goals is good and encourage. Having a good mentor will benefit you as he or she will help to check on your progress. If one of your goals are to become a good leader, then a mentor is one of the tools that you need.

That’s all for tonight and hope that it will benefit you in planning your goals. Again, do not forget to review your current goals.

Managing Emails

As a network marketer, almost everyday, you will be “bombarded” with emails from other marketers introducing new products, programs, systems, etc. These emails could either comes within your expectation while some came uninvited. Getting emails are good and practical but sometimes they are not “your cup of coffee”. Nonetheless, sometimes most of the emails received are spam that will go straight to your junk folders. Too many unnecessary emails received could divert your attention on important ones that you are supposed to do. You will sometimes lose your focus because you tend to read all the emails even though it does not concern you.

As a network marketer, you must be able to manage your time spent on opening-up and reading emails. You must be able to identify emails with high priorities and squash away those that are not important at all.

I used to subscribe emails from most internet and network marketers after visiting and exploring their websites. However, after a while, I discovered that I was actually wasting my time reading and receiving some of these emails.

I began to unsubscribe from those that I felt not giving me openings, ideas, help on my current businesses and professions; I unsubscribed from those who always sent me emails with the intention of selling and up-selling new products, programs unless they are “worth” reading; I unsubscribed from those emails that does not concern to me at all; etc.

I’ve searched and read many articles on managing emails and started applying. Well, here are some points for you to consider.

Emails aren’t urgent! Don’t feel you have to read an act upon your email the second it hits your inbox. You don’t! It isn’t urgent. If there was a real emergency then your client/colleague/friend would have call you rather than email you.

Are all those newsletters you subscribe to really necessary? Probably not! If this the case spend some time going through them and unsubscribing the ones you don’t really want or read. It will really helps you!

Does your email play distracting alerts, i.e. a sound? If so, disable it. This is one of the distractions that can make you stop working as you are rushing to check your emails. It will then take you some time to get back on track again, not to mention the amount of time you’ve just lost stopping what you were doing, reading your emails, and actioning them.

Try to schedule or set times to check your emails daily. Once or twice a day is enough, in the morning and again later in the day. If you subscribe to various industry groups, save reading these emails until you take a break from your work – maybe at the end of the day when you’re winding down. You can easily get sidetracked reading all the different topics and replying to them, all of which is taking you away from your paid work.Spent some times to learn how to utilise email filtering tools. Set up folders and filters so that your email gets sent to the appropriate folder as soon as it arrives.

A Network Marketer should know how to manage emails so that you won’t waste your precious time doing unproductive work or task. You should be making money rather than spending money on the things that not concerning you. In other words, you should be executing email marketing but not “collecting emails”.

That’s all for now. Talk soon.

Tips for Healthy Eating

It has been a week since I last updated my blog. My days have been fully occupied with training, servicing my network marketing business clients, prospecting, attending to some personal & family events, etc.

I met one of my regular customers on Wednesday night. He  introduced me to one of his friends who wanted to know more about the health supplements I was supplying his friend (my customer). We had quite a good discussion that night. One of the subject matters he asked me was about balanced diet which is the key to good health and vitality. This are some tips for healthy eating that I’ve shared with them.

Start your day right. Having breakfast every morning shall provide your body with the necessary fuel which you need for the entire day.

You have to develop a healthy eating habits by sticking to three main meals a day, and taking a light snack in between if necessary. Try to avoid snacking on junk food and taking late night supper. Do remember that your digestive system needs time to rest too!

The simple rule is to go for variety when choosing your food. Add colours to it! For instance, carbohydrates are mostly earthly colours such as white or brown rice or bread, wheres vegetables, fruits and grains are of rainbow colours and shades.

Reduce fatty foods that have high calories such as chocolates, animal organs and fats which are easily identified and avoided. However, there are many others that are not easily identified too such as deep-fried and sugar-laden food.

Try to increase your consumption of high fiber fruits, vegetables and cereal grains, which can lower your cholesterol and body weight and improve bowel movement.

Excessive takings of sugar and salt must be reduced. Excess sugar turns into carbohydrates which get stored in the body as fats, while excessive intake of salt shall results in high blood pressure.

Remember to have sufficient calcium from your food or supplements. Calcium is essential to keep your bone and teeth healthy, which is the very foundation of the skeleton system in the body.

Drink enough water! 75% of the body consists of liquids. Lack of water will result in dehydration, which can be dangerous as you may faint or experience nausea, vomiting or muscle cramps.

More Tips On Listing Your Goals!

Still no sure on how to set your goals and big dreams?

Apart from what I mentioned on my previous blog, these are some tips that I also used to set my goals.

1.

Make a list of goals you would like to accomplish in your life-time, doesn’t matter whether they are big, small, short-term or long-term.  Let your mind go.  How you are going to achieve them is really a concern at this moment.  The important is listing your goals and dreams.

2.

Choose the one goal that you are most committed to moving toward NOW!  This is important.  What you can do is to use a technic that I’ve read in one of the books.  Prioritising your list!. The author called it the Tournament draw. a format used for all sorts of competitions.  You can prioritise your choices by making separate draw sheets for unlimited number of years.  It’s similar to the knockout system.  But the winner will be the one which is your main priority in order to get all your list done!

3.

List all the benefits you will experience by achieving the goal.  What makes this goal important to you and what is the purpose for achieving this goal.  How will it make you feel?

4.

What must happen in order for you to know and feel that you have successfully achieved this goal?  Now do not forget to state how will you feel if you do not achieve this goal? What will it cost you emotionally, financially, professionally, socially, spiritually, etc>?

5.

Create a picture goals books or poster and place it at a conspicuous area of your work areas.

6.

Take time each day to think about this goal, envisioning that you have already achieved it.  In other words, feel the feelings that go a long with having already achieved the goal.

Hope these will assist you in listing your goals and dreams.  It’s not too late to do it as time will never wait for us.  Don’t wait for tomorrow, do it now!  Remember to motivate yourself purposely and eradicate all the fear and other uninvited negative elements from our mind.

To your success!
