Compassion – A Personal Sense of Peace

Honesty with one’s self leads to compassion for others! Do you agree?

One of the daily habits of a Network marketer is prospecting. In other words, you must love meeting people from various walks-of-life. There will be times when you will feel frustrated when your prospect do not turn up for the appointment. However, if you want to be successful in the business, rejections should be part of your daily chores. It should be treated as normal.

Being in the business for quite sometimes, I’ve learned to accept the fact that compassion should be part of me. One of the things that I always practice is compassion exercise as it will give me a personal sense of peace apart from my daily prayers. This exercise was first introduced by Harry Palmer – Resurfacing.

Compassion for those for whom Mother's Day brings sadness

This exercise can be done anywhere that people congregate. It should be done on strangers, especially your cold-callings prospects, unobtrusively, from some distance. It would be good if you could try to do all the five steps on the same person.

With attention on the person, repeat the followings to yourself.

  1. “Just like me, this person is seeking some happiness for his/her life.”
  2. “Just like me, this person is trying to avoid suffering in his/her life.”
  3. “Just like me, this person has known sadness, loneliness and despair.”
  4. “Just like me, this person is seeking to fulfill his/her life.”
  5. “Just like me, this person is learning about life.”

Some variations of the compassion exercise are as follows.

  • To be done by couples or family members to increase understanding of each other.
  • To be done on old enemies and antagonists still present in one’s memories.
  • To be done on your prospects especially those who rejected you.
  • To be done on alien life forms.

I’ve personally tested the effectiveness of this exercise. It makes me feel good and cultivate peace of mind. It could change your life and other people’s life if you sincerely do it. It won’t cost you a penny, in fact it give you some motivation to succeed in whatever you do by being honest to yourself.

The System is the Solution

After 3 weeks, I finally had lunch with my wife, my daughter and my youngest son. Too bad that both my other sons could not joined us. Anyway, we had a good lunch at Northpoint Shopping Centre. We had a whole spring chicken, fried dory fish, chicken rice and thosai (an Indian food) for me.

If you have not been to Northpoint lately, it had a new look now with more shops, bigger areas and ‘brightly’ coloured; thanks to the new management. There are many new retail shops too. As for my youngest son, he’s actually waiting anxiously for the opening of the new water playground that is situated on the roof top. Most probably, all the children are looking forward too.

Through my observation, I noticed that shop owners are spending more money getting a shop, renovations, etc. before the business really kick-off, now than before. The property owner will only rent them space without any walls, flooring, etc. It’s up to the owner as to how he or she want the shop to be presented. In other words, the shop owner have to prepare their own concept. But, they still have to follow the guidelines from the Property Owner. You must have enough “moolas” to actually sustain the retail business.

In network marketing, we are running a personal franchise global business with low investment, good and reliable products with scientifically proven, focusing on the needs of users throughout the world with a competitive compensation plan in return for marketing the direct selling company’s products and services. Nowadays, we can actually make our own research before embarking on the journey for  the right company and products as our suppliers. However, the most important factors in running the business is the Network Marketing System. Paul Getty once said, “To succeed in a business, to reach the top, an individual must know all it is possible to know about the business.”

If you are looking for an opportunity to start your own business, you can actually consider network marketing as one of the choices. For those who are new in the industry, you’ve made the right choice as if you really work hard, focus and take actions, you will succeed. However, you must have a reliable network marketing system that can guide and leads you to success.

Network Marketing is the most inspired system of distribution and sales the world has ever seen especially after the year 2000 when it opens the market in Asia. Nothing harnesses the awesome market-moving power of leverage, duplication, geometric growth and progression like Network Marketing. The secret to success in the industry is duplication; and the key to duplication is : Don’t duplicate people, duplicate the System.

It has been proven by the most successful restaurant in the world – McDonalds! Do you know why? In my own opinion, I don’t really think their food is great, but it’s always consistent. A Big Mac in Malaysia, US, Indonesia tastes the same as one in Singapore. Try to observe how they serve and prepare the food; where and how do they arrange their ‘work-stations’ especially the french fries maker. It’s really amazing how the company actually runs the restaurants. Fantastic!

What a system! Who’s working or run the system? An expert? A big NO, it’s just ordinary people, school going teens, mostly those in high school. How to run the system? You go to Hamburger University in Chicago, USA. No kidding but that’s where they teach you how to use the system.

It’s incredible right? When you know about duplication, you know it all! The System is the Solution to succeed in Network Marketing.
