Use your Experience to Grow your Network Marketing Business

Yesterday, we went to a Mega Superstore in the east to look for some camping equipment. It was about 4.30pm. We decided to take the free shuttle services provided by the Megastores. There was no other information on the board except the destinations of the four available routes. We decided to take the route to Sengkang, which only available during the weekends. All the 6 of us waited and waited and waited. It was 5.05pm. Still, there was no sign of the free shuttle service plying the route. There were more than 5 shuttle buses came and gone at the other queues. I asked the security personnel on duty and he replied that since Sengkang was the furthest (only to him), it will take about 45 minutes. The first lady on the queue was so frustrated that she started to talk and complaint to anyone. Many others in the queue just left and boarded other buses plying other routes.

The time was 5.25pm. More new faces in the queue except for some of us who refuse to give up. I decided to contact the Megastore customer services staff to make an inquiry. A lady answered my call after the second try. According to her, as for the route in questioned, it will take 1 hour. She told me that if I was not satisfied with the services, I can lodge a complaint to the bus operator directly. She told me that the free shuttle services are provided by the bus operator and not by the megastores. Whatever feedback they received from the customers, they will inform the bus operator. I asked for the contact number of the bus operator and she told me this,”I don’t have the number, you dial 100 and ask the operator for the number”. What a reply from a staff of one of the biggest megastore!

I don’t believed what she said but I just did not want to argue. If you are the bus operator, are you going to give free services to the customers for these megastores? With all the costs involved, are you willing to bear all these for “charity” that don’t concern you? I mean people going shopping and you give free services? Are you out of your mind? I strongly believed that the bus operators are being hired and paid to provide the services by the so called megastores. There’s no free lunch.

The bus eventually came at 5.40pm. We were second in the queue. Guess what? Everybody just rushed into the bus as though the queue did not exist. If you are in our situation, how do you deal with it? It really frustrating but that’s the reality of life.

As a network marketer, there are many lessons that can be learnt from the short-time experience.

Patience and perseverence is a must in the business! Many people failed because they want to earn quick bucks but do not want to wait so long. Network marketing is a long term business plan. You must be patient to see the business grow. Just be persistent in what you believed and eventually you can see the money coming in. Do not quit halfway through it. Either you do it with all your passion and heart or don’t do. There’s no such thing as trying. Either you do or otherwise.

Choosing a direct selling company is very important to ensure that your business plan is protected. You must remember that you are not working for them but you are using them as a medium for your business. They are your product’s supplier. They pay you the commission because you’re marketing their products. As such, a professional direct selling company who care for their distributors (customers), must make sure that all their staff regardless of rank and position, are trained to handle the distributor’s inquiries. Having good products are of no use if the company can’t handle your ‘plights and problems’. It’s your duty to research and select a good network marketing or direct selling company that will provide you with a peace of mind so that you can build a long term business plan to grow your business.

People are the main actors in network marketing. Build up your people network with like-minded people or better than you. If you want to build up your organization, only sponsor good people who have dreams and the desire to succeed in life; people, who are willing to learn, unlearn and relearn.

There is no free lunch to success. You have to work very hard and enjoy the fruits later. Speed is one of the important factors to succeed. When the bus came, everyone just rushed in with the objective not only to board the bus, but to secure a seat. You may achieve your short-term objective but that do not guaranteed that you will achieve your main goal.

Compassion! Learn to forgive yourself and forgive others. It’s easy to become an enemy than a friend. Build friendship! A good relationship with others will make you stronger in life and it definitely help in your network marketing business.

Network marketing is a business that if properly executed, will give you the freedom of life. Money is very important! You must be financially protected but they cannot buy you the other freedom – time, health, spiritual believed.

Are you a Successful Network Marketer?

Every one dreams to be successful in whatever they do and desires. No one planned to fail. There are many books and articles being written about how to be successful; not forgetting the availability of tapes and recorded media on the same subjects. There are many “gurus” out there who claimed to have the recipes on how to be successful too. Frankly, I personally feel that there is no such thing as the best method to achieve success; but there are many guides and leads that you can follow or adapt to set a route to fulfill your dreams.

As a Network Marketer, we are facing challenges from other marketers around the globe marketing products that we strongly believed (love), could benefit other people because it has help us to be who we are today. Does this mean that most marketers are doing well in the business? Dam you’re right! They might be looking good, healthy and very satisfied with the products they used or consumed, but many of them do not done well in the business. This is a fact and many marketers knew about it. However, there are also thousands of people that had actually succeed in the industry and earn millions of dollars from their respective network marketing company after building huge organizations. Look at the following records. 98% does not wish to sell things! 95% does not wish to buy things from MLM! Just a merely 5% who will continue buying from the industry! So, do you believe that this business can make you a millionaire? I do.

Do these people trying to kill each other in order to grow their business? You may say no because network marketers are trained to stay positive all the times. But we are all human beings. We do have feelings, we know how to feel, taste and see. But this is very rare in the industry. However, do remember that just one bad apple could destroy the whole lots of good apples in the organization. That is why some leaders stressed that if you want to have a stable organization, sponsor only ‘good’ people. It will help.

How these people do becomes successful marketers in the industry? They do challenge and compete but they definitely do not jeopardize each other. Even in the traditional business, more and more businesses are adapting the method as stated in the book, Blue Ocean Strategy, to grow their empires. In fact, more and more marketers are working together in some areas to get positive results. In other words, to be successful, you have to work as a team rather than going solo. Probably you already know about it. But again human need to be reminded. Human do makes mistake.

There are many great recipes that you can consider if you want to be successful in the network marketing business. One of the important recipes is to borrow strength from your working uplines and the system that you are adapting. Your uplines are there to help you in the business. They are part of a system. They are your mentor and guidance angel. A good system will provide you with positive environment, tools, how-to do the business and working uplines. System is meant to be 100% duplicated and that’s why system is made simple and easily accessible. Keep on sponsoring people!

Network marketing is a ‘people’ business. You must know how to handle the human relationship tactfully. How big or small the organization depends on how you handle them. Once you are able to manage people, you will have the chance to leverage your business through people’s network, especially your working uplines. Be approachable and full of passion.

An effective system wants you to dream. Some of them go a little bit further by asking you to make a dream board. Stick to your ultimate goals and dreams. Organize and breakdowns your goals into short and long term. In network marketing, you help people to realize and get back to their lost dreams. If your dream is big, the problem that you will be facing becomes small! But if your dream is small, the problem becomes big!

You must have the courage to go and achieve success! Putting on a professional attires or images does not reflect the entrepreneur spirits. You have to put-up the effort to truly produce the results.

Whatever the situation you are facing, don’t QUIT! If you quit, you will never reach your destination! Now is there really a success formula in Network Marketing? Think about it. It’s YOU! That makes it happen! It’s just a big U…

What to share with your prospects during the meetings?

When you want to buy something, what is the main thing that you are looking for? Is it the design, usage, value, needs, or simply because I want to buy it. By nature, when you are buying something, you definitely need it; unless you are the type of person who just loves to buy something which are unique or just feel like buying; in other words you’re a collector.

Buying something from an MLM company is totally different from buying from the “normal” shop (in the eyes of your prospects or buyers only). Some of your prospects think that this is a scam; however, some feel that buying from this company is good as most of the company produces high quality products that targeted the needs of the users.

These are some tips that you can consider when sharing your business opportunity.

Preparation before the meeting is very important. Ensure that the basics requirement for the meeting is prepared, i.e. mobile shop (bag containing your products), relevant documents, testimonies, test kits, etc. Depending on your system, most of these are essentials for the meeting. Remember to stay focus, confident, relax, professionally attired.

Identify your prospect’s needs. A season network marketer should have done this when he or she is processing to invite the prospects. Personally I used the F.O.R.M method to find out their needs and provide a solution for improvement of my prospect’s lifestyle. Its actually stand for Family, Occupation, Recreation and Message. Basically it covers their goals in life, financial needs, freedom, the sense of crisis, etc. If you can identify their needs, you have already tackled one of the important aspects of prospecting. Your next step is to share the solution to improve during the meeting. The most important to take note is how much time can your prospect be with you. A good meeting should be between 1 to 1.5 hours, unless your prospect keeps asking more. My best advice to you is not to have more than 3 meetings with the same prospect. Close the case in your next follow-up meetings. In other words, you should be able to plan what to share during the 1st, 2nd and the 3rd meeting (if applicable).

There is no such thing as the best method on how to start your sharing. No definite topic or subject that you must start first. It depends on how fast you can identify your prospects needs and desires. You must know the objective of the meeting. At the end of the presentation, you should be expecting only three results, your prospect should either be a network marketer just like you thus becoming a partner of a free enterprise; a consumer of the products; a referral where you could ask them who may be interested. As for rejection, it should not be even listed in your expected results. It’s something that you have to face and overcome it.

Don’t forget to greet your prospect and get them to be “interested” to what you are going to share. You could start with some ice breakers; but not too many. People will get bored. You should start your presentation 5 to 10 minutes after the introductory.

Depending on the situation and your customer’s needs, if your prospect is inclined into business opportunity, you should be sharing with him or her on the business opportunity in network marketing. Talk to them about the Network Marketing Concept so that they are clear about some misconceptions about the industry.

You can also start by introducing the company’s background. Whether they are going to be your business partner or consumer, they need to know about the company and the products.

Show them all the products. You must show some testing on the products’ effectiveness. This will help them to make a decision. Seeing to believe! If you are marketing personal care products, then let them try and use it on themselves.

If time permits, you can continue to share on how your prospect can get the products. Do not explain about the compensation plan unless your prospect demands from you.

Don’t forget to confirm the next date of appointment. It should be within 24 to 48 hours when the excitement is primed. Give them something to read. It should contain the subjects that you have shared and some other information. You can also invite them to your system meeting or the network marketing company’s events.

As a network marketer, you have to identify your prospect’s needs and introduce the business from that angle. There will still be questions. Answer those questions, clarify doubts and build confidence. Your prospects must be able to see the value of the business franchising or the products they want to be involved and consumed. If you need help from your uplines to close your case, then inform them in advance. They would be more than happy to assist you. Teamwork is a must in network marketing.

How To Sponsor People In Your Organization

When you are involved in Direct Selling industry particularly in multi-level marketing, sponsoring of people is a big deal and it should be a non-stop action. You probably know that in order for your organization to grow, you need to keep on sponsoring people in. You must make this as your daily habit even though it will take sometimes to cultivate it.

There are many techniques that you can apply to sponsor people. These methods are easy to be executed if you have build up all the personal development skills required to persevere in the business. Just to recap before I show you the methods; be confident, be excited, remember to praise people, show them your appreciations, have a pleasant personality, professionally attired as you are going to share them a global business, know your products well, do not be late for appointment, do not waste time, etc. If you have been following my blogs, there are many personal skills that I’ve mentioned that you’ve to develop if you are involved in network marketing.

Some of the techniques that are worth mentioning here are as follows.

Personal invitation through telephone, email or letter. If you hate to do cold callings, then don’t do. Contact all the persons that are closed to you. Your friends, working colleagues, family, relatives, etc. etc. just to mention a few. You must know what to talk or write. This is one method that I always implement. Depending on who you’re going to approach base on your prospect background, I will never mentioned anything about the company, products or compensation plan, unless, you are pretty confident about it. This is advisable for new network marketers. Sometimes, you do not know what to say on your first appointment. In this case, you need the help from your sponsor or uplines. What you need to do is just to secure an appointment. Your uplines will be very happy to help you but please remember to brief them about your prospect. Your uplines need to know all the necessary information before they could help you. Why don’t mention about the 3 things? We are not actually cheating them but some of your prospects will reject you “right on the spot”, when you mention either the 3 subjects. If you’re new, you will get dejected faster because of the rejections. It will “kill” your spirit abruptly, you will be unmotivated, your “belief” is gone, and you will be out of the industry for good. I know how it feels, as I’d experienced it. Only that my “belief” (passion and love) is stronger than the failures and rejections.

Face to face invitation. Your prospects can be your warm or cold market. It doesn’t matter who they are. As long as they show signs of curiousness to know more about what you do, then invite them for a proper meeting. It could be now, today, tomorrow or some other day. Get their contact (preferably telephone or email), exchange name cards, try to get more information from them by listening more than talking (you can do that when you have set an appointment), etc. However, always remember that a good “show” doesn’t always have a happy ending. Be prepared to be rejected. It’s all part of the game. Use it to push you through as a motivational tools rather than a “destructive” one. Always think positive. If no show, remember the 3 SWs & a big letter N, “some would, some won’t, so what, NEXT!”

Email Marketing. If you are the one who refuse to meet face to face (due to bad experiences or whatever your reasons), then write an emails that sells and set your own email marketing system. Remember, you must know what to write. Normally, if you are in a direct selling company that always believed in new technologies, you will not face any problem. They will supply you with all the online marketing tools that you need to market the products and grow your organization. What you write, depend on the company and system that you are respectively using as your medium and platform for your business. You must remember that if you are building a career in network marketing as a business, you must be responsible in what you are executing. Get a good system to guide you through. In order to succeed, system must be simple, proven and duplicable. Work as a team. A team of positive-minded people that care and share. If you are marketing online, keep on testing the system until it works! The rule is testing your system, keep on testing, and carry on testing until it serves your needs.

Subsequent follow-up from your first meeting. This is one of the most vital. Normally, if your prospects agree to have a subsequent meeting with you, the chances are they want to know more about your business and opportunity. This is your only chance to sponsor them. So, be well-prepared. Do not blow it away! Clear your mind from any positive thoughts. Remember, you either help them in whatever ways you can (it doesn’t matter whether they will be your products consumer or business partners) or you will kill their interest about the industry. Be truthful, don’t ever lie, give them all the information they need, give those options and lastly guide them when they make that decision to change their life. You don’t owe them a living neither do we.

Correct timing? Not such thing as correct timing. You may not agree what I said here but the truth, there is no such thing as correct timing or right timing. Your prospects either do it now or don’t do it. Remember, you don’t owe any body a living. But, when we cooperate and works as a team, our success can comes fast. But that also won’t help if everyone in your organization doesn’t duplicate the system. Remember, people will change but system won’t if the system is very powerful, simple and already proven to guarantee you success if you duplicate. I personally don’t believe in the right timing, right place or the right time. It’s how you handle your prospects. It’s all about the right system to be duplicated as your platform with the right company as your medium and the right people you’re working with.

You must be able to execute all the marketing techniques such as building relationship (the most important in network marketing), share with people something that could inspired them about the industry (they are many out there, you just need to open your mouth and share), and know your products well (intellectual marketing). If you don’t sell, you don’t earn. If you fail to earn, then you cannot buy. If you want to buy, then you must sell!

Network marketing is a complete business model for someone that wants to own a global business with low investment, freedom of time and high probability of success. Sponsoring of people is the main task that you must exercise everyday to grow your business organization. How you execute it will determine how fast your organization will grow. The best advice is sponsor only good people in if you want to have an organization that last.
