I love outdoor adventures! In 2000, I attended the Basic Adventure Training Course (BATC) held somewhere in a jungle of Johor, Malaysia. One of the topics covered was outdoor cooking.

Our task was to cook a hard-boiled eggs for our lunch. Easy right? But we had to do it without using any cooking utensils, stove. Each group were given 5 sticks of matches with the box and a 1.5 feet of aluminium foil; and that was all!

The instructors didn’t care how we prepared the eggs as long as the tasks must be completed within 45 minutes! By the way, the place where we stopped for our lunch was a beauty, it was next to a river about 20 ft in width, 6 4-men tents could easily be set-up if you want to spend a night there.

Being a Network Marketer especially using the offline method to run the business, we cannot runaway from difficulties and problems. Difficulty is a little devil that sat on your shoulder. You have to look for the solutions and apply all the different ways that you can adopt.

You have to remember that problems are very impossible cannot be solved; the only different is how fast you take to tackle it. So, whether you like it or not, you have to think of a way on how to get out of the difficulties you are facing.

Do you require skills to solve it? Probably not. Apart from skills, your attitude plays an integral part in apprehending this issues. Why? Skills can be learnt, but attitude is about changing your paradigm or habits. One of the important advises that most successful people give is always have a positive attitude. Do you agree?

You often heard that in order to succeed, you must have 99% positive attitude and only 1% skills. This is perhaps to be the most challenging tasks – staying positive. It may look easy but very difficult to do it.

Many people believe they can solve problems when they face it, but unfortunately, they do the reverse things trying to solve it. Why? Because they only believe in their head but not their heart.  They fail to visualize.

As a Network Marketer, you have to be responsible, caring, creative and always willing to be taught and learn. When you think positive, focus, you will find the way to overcome any difficulties in your journey to success.

I was at a shopping complex to buy some first aid supplies. Went into one of a big chain pharmacy to source for the items. At the same time I looked through the health dietary supplements section.

I was approached by a lady who was the supplements sales promoter. She asked me whether I was interested in any products as she saw me holding an omega 6 – fish oil supplement. I just smiled at her. She was holding an X brand (fish oil) bottle in her hand. I knew her intention and before I could said a word, she immediately showed her products to me and started to explain on the benefits.

She was doing her job as a sales promoter. I let her explained what she knew. As I was already engaged in the situation, I decided to ask her about the ingredients used. She stopped for a while, read the label on the bottle (about 2 minutes), then explained to me. I asked her whether any an omega 3 in it. She referred to the label again and again after about a minute or so, she replied, “No sir, but if you want an omega 3 in it, I can recommend you other brands”. I smiled again at her; and again before I could said no, she just went to other shelves to look for it.

I knew that she wanted to make a sales to earn commissions. I just observed her. She went from one shelve to shelve, read the product’s label and at last brought to me 3 bottles of different brands.

She showed me the ingredients especially the omega 3 statement. She continued to explain the benefits to me. She was trying very hard to make a sale. She even told me that many people took the products and so far there was no complaint – to her no complaint mean good products.

As a network marketer, you must know your products before you try to make any sale. The lady might be new to the industry, but she must ensure that she knows all her products before approaching a customer.

You must know what people needs; not the benefits. Asking what your prospect want, listen to his/her needs could save you time.

The most important aspect is that you must be the product of the products. Use the products first before you recommend to people. Network marketing is about people. You cannot lie just to make a sale.

One of my products is healthcare supplements. I consumed all the supplements for about 3 months to ensure that it really works and effective. In fact, I’m the product of the products. I’ll share with you next time how I lost more than 12 kg in 3 months! The best part of it, I’ve been maintaining my current weight for almost 4 years now. The products really works for me and also to my customers too. To date, I’m still taking the products that I have fate in them, but not the weight lost program. There are others that make me what I am today.

As for the lady, I did not purchased any supplements form her as the reason I went to the pharmacy was to get my first aid supplies. That was my objective.
