Yesterday, I blogged about how important is perseverance to your success in Network Marketing industry. Here are ways in which you can improve your PQ (perseverance quotient). These will help you in achieving success in whatever you are doing.

Take Responsibility for Yourself

The most important point if you want to stay focus. You must deal a deadly blow to the single greatest cause of human misery, which is the myth or false belief that our life is governed by some secret, external force. For some, this mythical, hidden force may be race, religion, gender, upbringing, social class, education, physical features or handicaps, and even their parents. Be responsible for yourself!

Select Positive Influences

In order to stay in a positive environment, you must intentionally select positive reinforcements. Always seek strong and uplifting themes when you purchase books, audio tapes, films and other media for your entertainment. Select those that nurture your spirit. How this applies to network marketing is obvious. Choose to work with and learn from positive people whom you admire, respect and trusted. These person will be the one that you wish to be in yourself.

Manage your Stress

The word stress evokes scenes of breakdown, unhappiness and disruption of normal body functioning. Actually, stress is the effect of any external, physical or mental pressures on your well-being. The primary causes of stress are anxiety and tension, which may arise through different events or conditions, such as money hardship, job/business problems, moving home, sexual difficulties, loss of friendship, loneliness, demise of a loved one, marriage failure, tax investigation etc. We do need some stress which is known as U-Stress. This type of stress is good and it makes us more focus and always take actions.

Healthy Living

Healthy living is crucial for you because your energy and stamina are necessary for perseverance. You need to be in top form for focus, resilience, self-confidence, optimism, clarity and intensity. You’ll notice that if you don’t have energy or excitement when talking with prospects, it’s not likely that they’ll be inclined to join your business. You must always be excited and full of energy when meeting prospects or servicing your customers and downlines.

Be True to Yourself

Do not lie. Don’t make up stories. In order to be true to yourself, you must know who you are. To do that successfully, you must nurture self-knowledge through self-searching, contemplation, meditation, observation, and reflection. Develop your own personal plans for success, and base it on this self-knowledge. Your experiences is part of your self-knowledge. True stories can change live.

Seek the Best Source of Advice

You must ensure or at least consider the source you are getting very carefully when seeking advice. If you want to shorten the distance from perseverance to achievement, do not reinvent the wheel. Learn from the mistakes of others, rather than repeating them yourself. By duplicating the methods that have brought others the success, you are using the most effective and fastest method to succeed.

Avoid Inaction Alibi

Planning paralysis is a very real hazard when you set out to develop your plan to such a level of detail that you are unable to take action. Beware! You can only gather so much information and define so many steps towards the realization of your dream. To make it happen, sooner or later you must put that plan into action. So, your plan or system must be simple, easy to follow and easily attainable.

Plan your Work

When you have identified and set your goals you will need a plan to turn your vision into reality. Planning is a vital step in getting what you want and desire. I have met people with extraordinary goals and even well written goal scripts, but they never developed a plan for putting them into action. It is not surprising that their goals were never accomplished, because they failed to plan an simple and doable blueprint.

Eliminate Counter-productive Habits

Firstly, you must identify the counter-productive habits or thoughts that you would like to discontinue. Then dump them!!! You must focus on what you can do, not what you cannot do. The law of attraction works if you always stay and think positive. Believe in what you want to achieve.

Forgive Yourself and Others

You must willingly forgive yourself and others. Do this for your own sake, and for your own peace of mind. Harbouring grudges, disapproval, hatred or disappointment can poison your spirit of perseverance. Learn how to forgive and forget if you want to stay positive.

Take Reasonable Risks

You must not be afraid to take reasonable risks. Without risk, there is no reward. Risk management is more important than risk avoidance. Risk avoidance dampens the spirit, undermining the will to persist in the face of obstacles and reversals. One of my inspiring quote is to conquer without risk is to triumph without glory.

Get Support

You deserve to be around people supportive of your aspirations. All good psychologists, counsellors, coaches, mentors and teachers will tell you that you must have exposure to a positive environment. Remember, everyone of us undergo and face negative environment daily without fail. So, look out for positive people and environment to get yourself re-charged.

Do not Quit

When you feel yourself slipping or feeling down, remember the people who overcame failures and rejections to achieve their dreams. These are people like Thomas Edison, Colonel Sanders, Charles Schulz, and the endless list of other persistent great achievers, who found that success inevitably arrives for every person who perseveres.

Although life is not an unending succession of problems and crises, you must nevertheless accept that problems have their time and purpose. Consequently, by increasing your PQ you will equip yourself, in whatever your circumstances, not only to avoid becoming a victim of that circumstances, but also to face up to your fears with a resolute refusal to be beaten into submission.

I was reading a book about the power of perseverance when I came across these short sub-topic that I must share with you.

How important is perseverance to your success in network marketing or MLM? You probably knows the answer, but do you really care about it? Now, ask yourself these simple questions especially if you are new to the Network Marketing industry.

How many do you think out of the 200 top income earners or distributors have continuously jumped around from one company to another company until they found the “magic product” that would make them rich beyond their wildest dreams?

How many do you think make a decision on a company (and course of action), and then stuck with it through all the learning experiences, mistakes and failures – and finally, attained huge successes?

We have no doubt that at least sometime in your life, you have to work your way through utmost frustrations and countless hardships before you saw the flickering light at the other end of the journey. But, when you got there, it made it all the more worthwhile, didn’t it?

Everything you’ve learned along the way had in one way or another, taught you valuable lessons that you have always remembered and used several times since, making your failures fewer and farther between. In a way, success becomes more easier to achieve. Really, it takes more than a matter of perseverance than ability.

For most people, network marketing or MLM is not a “natural ability.” It has to be learned, and it definitely can be learned by anyone. You just have to look at the various people from all walks of life that have become major successes in the industry and duplicate the method they used to achieve it. With failure and subsequent perseverance come new knowledge, ability and future success.

Out of those 200 mentioned earlier, how many do you think knew how to succeed on the first day they entered the network marketing industry? Probably ZERO. In fact, without any doubt, we all willingly agree that those same people have FAILED more times than most.

The great thing about the Network Marketing industry is that it doesn’t really matter how many times you experience hardship or failure as long as you learn from your mistakes and keep on pushing forward. You only have to get it right once and you’ll be set for the rest of your life.

Perseverance plays an important aspect as to whether you want to succeed in Network Marketing or not. It’s your choice. It depends on how you look at it. If you say the colour is white, than it will be white forever. But if you think that the colour can be changed, than you change it. It’s all your choice.

A good leader doesn’t mean he/she is a Network Marketer. However, a Network Marketer is definitely a leader. Do you agree? Probably not.

The question is, are leaders groomed or born leaders? Well it’s up to you to decide too, as every individual has a leader in them. How they bring out that leadership in them plays an important aspects.

Now, in Network Marketing, what are the characteristic features of a Leader. What makes them a good leader? These are some that I’ve heard, seen that could make a good leader.

• Great leaders started because of their belief. They came out and executed their belief. It was this belief that started their journey. The belief that no one else can take away from them except themselves. If you want to be a leader, you must belief in what you want to achieve. Even though there are many obstacles and difficulties to come, strengthen your belief to overcome it.
• Leaders help his/her organization to see things easier and clearer thus making it easy to focus on our belief.
• Leaders can see what are needed in order to help his/her organization. It was due to their believes that intellectual wealth and health fulfillment are created.
• Leaders have visions. Visions are our starting point to our belief and dreams.
• Leaders must know how to act on it – the belief to fulfil! They do extra-ordinary things.
• Last but not the least, leaders must have qualities! I call it the heart of the leaders; and they are

• Image of a hero
• Determination
• Self confident
• Responsibilities
• Influential

If you ask from other network marketing leaders, most of them will tell you that the main characteristic of a leader is the Belief of the leaders themselves.

You can have all the above, but having a constant learning environment will leads you to a continuous growing. Personal development should not be forgotten and always be positive and take actions, take actions, and take more actions.
