I accompanied my second son for his medical check-up today. We took the MRT (train) to our destination (Singapore General Hospital). A small incident happened in our view.
A man about 30 yrs of age was standing with his back facing the entrance. A middle age lady was standing facing him. When the train arrived at one of the stations, the lady suddenly barged out; pushing the man without any signs indicating that she will be alighting. There were some exchanges of words between them. I came to understand that the man was telling the lady that if she want to go out, excused herself so that he will give her way. Apparently the lady replied that in the first place he should not be standing and blocking the entrance. That’s sparked the feel of unhappiness to both parties. However, when the door closed, arguments immediately stopped and the situation back to norm.
In Network Marketing business, distributors prospect, recruit, share with people almost daily about the business. Depending on the needs, those who agrees, will join as either a distributor or a consumer. However, they may not be a "Yes man" forever, except to those who has the desire to succeed; and to those who are labelled prosumers.
In Network Marketing business, it will be a norm to see people come and go. I’ve experienced it myself, where my downlines who was very active for 3 months, suddenly went missing without a trace. There was no indications or signs that he was giving up the business. But thing happened!
Back to the incident in the train, if the man just ignored the lady whom furthermore was a stranger to him, unnecessary scene may not happened and no feelings will be hurt.
Personally I feel that the master of handling situation the right way when problem arises should be observed and applied on a case by case basis. It’s one of the important aspects in handling people especially strangers. These skills are a must in Network Marketing business as it’s all about people business.
