Set Goals? Focus & Take Actions!

For the past few days, I’ve been reading lots of articles, tips on writing and setting goals.  Whilst travelling, I listened to tapes and CD on the same subject.  In the end, I come to a conclusion that there is no such thing as the best method to write or express it on paper.  However, to have it written could definitely help in visualizing it.

The most important is taking actions!  Without taking any action, the piece of paper will just be another white elephant sitting conspicuously around your house, work place or work space; faded away by the environment; forgotten by the surroundings; and neglected by the owner.  At the end of the year, new goals are written, and same old thing will happen; keep on rotating in a circle full of day dreaming.

Focus on the objectives of the goals!  This is very important as I’ve experienced it myself, and that’s where you are going to invite Mr. "Failure".  So be careful on where you are focusing.  Take things one at a time.

Now, before you want to set goals, do ensure that you know the position you are in at this moment. Where do you want to go? What you want to achieve? The objectives must be clear.

CLARITY.  The most important aspect when setting goals!

What is your resolution for next year?

Since attending the AIC 2008 early this month, I have been doing some serious thinking about my future, my business, my passion and my strength.

Everyone will be making a resolution for the new year.  Whether it will be met or otherwise, is a secondary matter.  The important is goals have been set and shall be executed.

My Family, My Inspiration! Today has been such a wonderful day.  I made some purchases online preparing for some of the goals I’ve set for next year.  Never in my life that I am really looking forward to a good head start for the coming 2009.  I’m mentally and physically prepared to execute my goals and has been making preparations for it.  My family has been very supportive to me, especially my wife and kids.  They are the inspiration and the main reason for me to succeed!

I’ve already decided on few mentors who will lead me on the respective goals that I’ve set.  I promised to myself to be a good student to them as long as I’m shown the right method of execution in fulfilling my goals.  I will continue to upgrade myself, do all the positive things, and focus on the objectives of my goals.

At the end of next year, I want to be a successful person in the eyes of my family if not to others.  One thing for sure, I will help as many people as I can to succeed, I want to build a network of successful people, I want to create a buzz of creative and positive people, I want to help people to help others.

Built Network! You’ll Succeed!

The business world is just like a battlefield and direct selling is a war that is fought in teams. In order to succeed in direct selling or network marketing business, the first and foremost criteria is to build a network.  As a direct seller, in order to become successful, we need to learn this skill from zero, until we have built-up a network of members.

If you ask the new distributor the most difficult problems they are facing, some of them might try to hide the truth but deep in their heart they knew that not knowing where to find prospects even though they can be found everywhere, both and near, is their greatest challenges that they faced.

Some of the traditional NM leaders might argue saying that the distributors are lack of confidence, lack of knowledge and skills, and lack of actions taken.  They also blamed the distributors for taking actions without proper planning.

Whatever their reasons and blaming, their actions could demoralized the new distributors if these distributors do not have the basic knowledge in the business.  Human is still human, and they always make mistakes.  Same goes to me and the so call leaders in the NM or direct selling industries.

Mind you, this is the most difficult problem but the most important aspects if you wanna succeed.  I encountered it myself.  But again, I never give up and continue to source for other avenues.  I did not change the principles or the core values of the business, only the method of getting new members.  I other words, how to built networks!

System is only a guidelines.  Not more than that.  However, a good system shall consists of all the useful methods, the dos and don’ts, the right attitude of a successful people, etc. etc. etc.  To your success.

It’s been 20 days since I blogged…..

It’s been 20 days since I began writing my blog.  Now, what regular bloggers and the speakers of the AIC 2008 said were true.  You need not have to be an expert writer to start blogging.  You can start to write about your passion or hobby as you actually know these subjects better than those that you are not inclined.  It’s all about your passion.

As for me, it’s about Network Marketing since I have been in this industries since 2001.  For those who knows me, I’m also a Webmaster and Designer until I left my job in early 2007 to concentrate on my Network Marketing Business full-time.  I’m also a freelance MS Office Application trainer just to ensure that I’m still in touch with the IT Industries.

What you need to write must be facts and true.  It must be from your heart and your experiences.  You can write anything as long as you don’t lie and based on your experiences and what you observed.  Remember, your readers only read something that are benefiting them through your experience and comes from your sincere point of view.

There are many tips and guides that you can get from the Internet gurus and bloggers on how to start blogging.  I’ve read many articles, guides, methods, etc. from quite a number of them.  I either downloaded it for free or paid for it.  Remember, you still need some monetary investment if you want to learn it from the experts; but you must know where or how to do it.

I have been approached by many friends and students (MOS Students) on how to design web sites, etc, etc. Since I have this blog of mine, I might start something here for them.  Well, I’m still in the planning stage, and will start soon.

Btw, back to Network Marketing, frankly I would admit that applying the traditional methods of executing the business are not enough!  You need to combine it with the power of the Internet if you really wish to succeed.  Remember, you are responsible for your business and to succeed in life.

Do Not Give Up!

A good article about how a Restaurant Entrepreneur, Mr. Razali Awang, the owner of Restoren Singgah Selalu in Johor Bahru, Malaysia had to endure in order to continue his restaurant business.  One thing for sure, he did not give up easily…every problems there are solutions to it as long as we continue to strive on.

The Story of Father and Three Sons…

Mr. John loved hunting.  During his previous hunting trips, he had never brought along his three sons.  One day, he decided to ask his sons to accompany him to hunt a deer.  All his sons agreed as it was their first time and they actually wanted to experience it as their father always talked to them about the positive of hunting trip.

The day has arrived, they drove a 4WD to the jungle and started to look for deer. After an hour drive, they spotted a deer drinking at a river bed. The father quickly took his gun and aimed towards the deer.  Then, he decided to test all his 3 sons, what they see from the gunpoint view.

His first son did not only see the deer but also the mother, both his siblings, their house with a beautiful surroundings and also the father!

His second son see everything! The trees, the flowing of water in the river, etc.

His third son took the gun, aimed and said to his father, "I saw a deer!"

What’s the moral of this story?

It’s all about focus!  We have to focus on our objectives rather than the goals or dreams that we’ve planned and desired.  If we focus on the objectives, actions will definitely be taken, as focus means taking action! Take action on the objectives of our goals and dreams.

In Network Marketing, we have to stay focus on the objectives that we’ve set.  One of the most important objectives is to focus on getting people to know our business and the products that we’re selling. Many network marketers focus on the goals and dreams, but fail to focus on the objectives.

When you set goals for 2009, just be sure that you focus on the objectives as it really makes a difference in your goals especially your income.
