New Goals? How about Habits!

Filed in: Network Marketing - Success, Personal Development | by pactrex on 12-27-08

What is a habit? It is something that we do so often until it becomes easy to repeat over and over again.  It’s actually involved our behaviour.  So if we continue at developing a new behaviour, it will eventually becomes automatic.

The good news is that habits can actually be reprogrammed by us at anytime if we choose to do so.  Everyone knows that it takes 21 to 30 days for a behaviour to become a habit.; again, only if we take action.  However, if we are going to change our negative to positive habit, it will take quite sometimes as it depends on how long you have owned it.

I’ve read many books about successful people.  They don’t just simply be successful.  They don’t drift to the top.  They always focused on their objectives and never failed to take action.  They were disciplined and work hard to make things happen.  So, the habits that we develop today will ultimately conclude how our future will look like.

Do remember, that many of our daily activities are simply routines.  In other words, this routine behaviours of us has been transformed into habits.  As such, up to 90% of our normal behaviour is based on habits!

Now, why do we need to focus on our habits?

  • 1. Your HABITS will determine your future
  • 2. Your HABITS will determine your quality of life

We need to be aware of the habits that are not working for us! We must be able to identify bad habits.  Try to develop the habit of changing our habits.

This is one method that I used when I want to change or create better habits.  It simply works for me.

  1. 1. Clearly identify your bad or unproductive habits.  When you examine it, consider the long-term implications.  You must be honest to yourself.
  2. 2. Define your new successful habits.  The more you describe the benefits, the more likely you will take action.
  3. 3. Create an action plan – DON’T FORGET TO TAKE ACTION!  Remember, nothing will change until you do.

Tips on Setting Goals

Filed in: General, Network Marketing - Success, Personal Development | by pactrex on 12-26-08

Regardless of what businesses, professions you are in, setting goals is a must especially those who are involved in Network Marketing.

Here are some tips that can help you in setting your goals.

1. One of the the golden rules of setting a goal is to set goal that can make us panic or uncomfortable!
2. Identify short and long term goals.  Turn them into dreams where yo can visualize it.
3. Your goals must be your own and personal and not something which sounds good and dictated by others!
4.

Use the SMART methods which I found it to be easily followed.

  • S – Specific.  What do you want to achieve.  Clarity is the keyword!
  • M – Measurable – Your goals must be able to be measured.  Have a projections.
  • A – Action Plan.  List out all the action plans towards achieving your goals.
  • R – Realistic. Your goals should be truthful and personal to yourself.  It must be realistic.
  • T – Time Conscious. You must set a timeline!  Gather the courage to give pressure to yourselves.

5. Focus on the objectives of the goals.
6. Having someone to check on your goals is good and advisable.  A good mentor will always check on your progress.

There are many articles you can read before setting your goals.  Just search for it.  However, I always visit Success Articles for resources in keeping myself positively charged.

Finally, we must not neglect our own religion.  We must always keep faith in whatever we believed.  We can only plan, but rest of it depends on how we execute it.

To your success.

Our life has to go on …..

Filed in: General, Network Marketing | by pactrex on 12-25-08

At about 9.30am, I received a call from a friend that one of my mentors had passed away.

He was my first mentor in life that guided me to the right path – faith in religion.  I’ve known him since I was 20 years old working in a same printing company.  He has grown from just an ordinary people to become a Community Leader.  At one time, he was heading an organization and even ran his own educational tuition centre.  I’ve known all his family members.

He was diagnosed to be suffering from an illness/disease that has been ranked in the top 10 in the category – Principal cause of Death in SG for 2007 (Statistics based on the MOH web sites).

As for us, life has to go on.  Everyone of us will definitely face death.  We live twice and die once.  As a believer in whatever faith we are in, we have to prepare and equip ourselves spiritually.

In Network Marketing, distributors come and go.  Some will "die" forever; some has to be "hospitalised", recovered and continue the business; some will seek medical advice, etc.  However, the NM leaders’ life’s has to go on.  These leaders are sometimes the mentors of other distributors. The business must be sustained.  They have to continue looking for prospects.  Do this NM leaders have a choice?

We have the right to decide what kind of life we want to live.  Unless we spread our wings, we will never know how high we can fly.  Every steps we take should be a lesson learnt and take it as an experience in achieving our goals in life.  Remember, our life has to go on….
