31More Tips On Listing Your Goals!
Filed in: Network Marketing - Success, Personal Development | by pactrex on 12-31-08Still no sure on how to set your goals and big dreams?
Apart from what I mentioned on my previous blog, these are some tips that I also used to set my goals.
|
1. |
Make a list of goals you would like to accomplish in your life-time, doesn’t matter whether they are big, small, short-term or long-term. Let your mind go. How you are going to achieve them is really a concern at this moment. The important is listing your goals and dreams. |
|
2. |
Choose the one goal that you are most committed to moving toward NOW! This is important. What you can do is to use a technic that I’ve read in one of the books. Prioritising your list!. The author called it the Tournament draw. a format used for all sorts of competitions. You can prioritise your choices by making separate draw sheets for unlimited number of years. It’s similar to the knockout system. But the winner will be the one which is your main priority in order to get all your list done! |
|
3. |
List all the benefits you will experience by achieving the goal. What makes this goal important to you and what is the purpose for achieving this goal. How will it make you feel? |
|
4. |
What must happen in order for you to know and feel that you have successfully achieved this goal? Now do not forget to state how will you feel if you do not achieve this goal? What will it cost you emotionally, financially, professionally, socially, spiritually, etc>? |
|
5. |
Create a picture goals books or poster and place it at a conspicuous area of your work areas. |
|
6. |
Take time each day to think about this goal, envisioning that you have already achieved it. In other words, feel the feelings that go a long with having already achieved the goal. |
Hope these will assist you in listing your goals and dreams. It’s not too late to do it as time will never wait for us. Don’t wait for tomorrow, do it now! Remember to motivate yourself purposely and eradicate all the fear and other uninvited negative elements from our mind.
To your success!

29Do It Now, Don’t Wait
Filed in: Network Marketing - Success, Personal Development | by pactrex on 12-29-08There are 3 days left for 2008. For those who have not reviewed what you’ve done for this year, it’s time for you to do so.
If you have achieved all your goals, then set a bigger goals next year. If you achieved half the goals, then continue to work on the remaining goals and set new ones. For those who have not achieved anything, then sit back and review the set goals. Remember, it’s not too late to do so. The most important thing you make a goal and try to achieve it. It’s definitely worthwhile than those who have not set any goals. At least you know what you want in life!
Frankly, not all my goals have been achieved. However, unplanned ones, were executed and apparently I managed to achieve them. In his book "The DNA of Success", the author gives a scenario on whatever we studied and mastered during our school days, does not reflect to what we are doing currently. I have many friends who actually do the opposite of what they’ve learnt during school. I have a friend who obtained Master in Arts, but now is a successful Marketing Director in one of the MNCs.
Do we dreams, then set goals or do the opposite? Or we set both our goals and dreams. Whatever we decide to do first, it’s only a method. The main thing is to take action. Even though, economists predicted that the year 2009 will be a gloomy year, let’s look at it positively.
There’s nothing wrong with the day, month or year, etc…etc… it’s all about us. It’s all about how we take action to achieve our goals.

"I have searched the world far and wide looking for the key to success! I found it everywhere I went. It was actually ME! All it takes is for us to believe that we can do it"
I have been reading lots of books about personal development, success stories, etc. to equip me in getting out of the rat race. I feel that I must share some of these books with all of you so that it will help you in your future endeavours in terms of changing your mindset from choosing the right one for you …. whatever the decision you made, good or bad, it still a decision!
One of the first book is from Robert Kiyosaki, Before you quit your job. For me, I rated this book as excellent. Here are some excerpt for you to decide whether it’s good for you to read or otherwise…
What Makes Entrepreneurs Different?
One of the most frightening days of my life was the day I quit my job and officially became an entrepreneur. On that day, I knew there were no more steady paychecks, no more health insurance or retirement plan. No more days off for being sick or paid vacations.
On that day, my income went to zero. The terror of not having a steady paycheck was one of the most frightening experiences I had ever experienced. Worst of all, I did not know how long it would be before I would have another steady paycheck… it might be years. The moment I quit my job I knew the real reason why many employees do not become entrepreneurs. It is fear of not having any money… no guaranteed income… no steady paycheck. Very few people can operate for long periods of time without money. Entrepreneurs are different, and one of those differences is the ability to operate sanely and intelligently without money.
On that same day, my expenses went up. As an entrepreneur, I had to rent an office, a parking stall, a warehouse, buy a desk, a lamp, rent a phone, pay for travel, hotels, taxis, meals, copies, pens, paper, staples, stationery, legal tablets, postage, brochures, products, and even coffee for the office. I also had to hire a secretary, an accountant, an attorney, a bookkeeper, a business insurance agent, and even a janitorial service. These were all expenses my employer had once paid for me. I began to realize how expensive it had been to hire me as an employee. I realized that employees cost far more than the number of dollars reflected in their paychecks.
So another difference between employees and entrepreneurs is that entrepreneurs need to know how to spend money, even if they have no money.
The Transition from Employee to Entrepreneur
I know I was not born a natural entrepreneur. I had to be trained. My rich dad guided me through a process of starting as an employee to eventually becoming an entrepreneur. For me, it was not an easy process. There was a lot I had to unlearn before I could begin to understand the lessons he was trying to teach me.
It was difficult hearing what my rich dad had to say because what he said was exactly opposite from the lessons my poor dad was trying to teach me. Every time my rich dad talked about entrepreneurship, he was talking about freedom. Every time my poor dad talked to me about going to school to get a job, he was talking about security. There was the clash of these two philosophies going on in my head and it was confusing me.
Finally I asked rich dad about the difference in philosophies. I asked, “Aren’t security and freedom the same thing?” Smiling, he replied, “Security and freedom are not the same… in fact they are opposites. The more security you seek, the less freedom you have. The people with the most security are in jail. That is why it is called maximum security.” He went on to say, “If you want freedom you need to let go of security. Employees desire security and entrepreneurs seek freedom.”
So the question is, can anyone become an entrepreneur? My answer is, “Yes. It begins with a change in philosophy. It begins with a desire for more freedom than security.”
In Rich Dad’s Before You Quit Your Job, Robert courageously reveals his business failures as well as his successes, using them to illustrate ten key lessons that can help make you a successful entrepreneur.
